The Dude is a symbolism of the maturing Generation X. Yes, the name is also borrowed from the epic American movie – The Big Lebowski but more importantly Nepali Dude is a surge of identity trying to break away from the century long heritage/lineage/tradition/culture/society that has gripped our dear country for centuries.
The idea behind Nepali Dude is to portray the typical 20 something Nepali guy, estranged from his homeland, influenced by a sum of different things that his parents were NOT influenced by; hereby creating a mandatory generation gap. He is not one person, but a mixture of many with whom he comes in contact. The Dude exists in anyone’s mind who has seen both inside and outside of the motherland. He is sum amalgamation of the experiences of the struggling Nepali youth.
That being said, please donot mistake the name Nepali Dude to encourage just the guys. It totally applies to the women folk as well. Clubbin, Rhianna, manicure, shopping, cooking, it is heard equivocally!
